Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I enjoy working with students on an individual basis. The opportunity to carefully observe, diagnose and remediate is so much more effective. The joy of watching a student progress and succeed is exciting.
Why should a student pick you?
- My unique experiences with students of all ages and diverse backgrounds are only the initial stimulus for selecting me.
Besides being a teacher, I have over twelve years experience in academic tutoring and many more working with students of all ages in various venues.I have worked at an alternative high school for students who are unable to succeed in the traditional academic setting. These students included those enrolled in Special- Education; English as a Second Language; English Language Learner; Learning Disabled; Emotionally Disabled and various others with diverse needs. I tutored these students especially in the language arts.
Personal Statement:
- Smart educators know that learning happens in the context of relationship. It is a very individual process with diverse styles. The balance of finding the heart of a child and discovering a life - line from it to develop the mind is an intriguing challenge, that both motivates and fulfills me.
